Hi! I'm Matash Hiasley! I am deeply drawn to the poetic side of life. My writing, my daydreaming, even my D&D characters, all reflect a desire to weave magic, philosophy, and imagination into something lasting. Fantasy, after all, is not merely escapism — it is a lantern for the soul, a reminder of the beauty hidden within us all.

Immersive daydreaming is at the heart of this. It is not just idle drifting, but a state of trance-like imagination where worlds open as vividly as reality: where one can walk through forests that do not exist, hear the laughter of characters that were never born, and feel the wind of distant realms upon the skin. Children know this way of living instinctively. To them, reality is but one version of the possible. In play, they treat imagination as their truth — a dragon can be as real as the neighbor’s dog, and a cardboard box can be a starship sailing through the empty void. Yet as we grow older, many of us forget this art. We trade infinite horizons for rigid walls, mistaking seriousness for wisdom.

But imagination is not simply a childish toy — it is humanity’s oldest tool. Even shamans of ancient tribes already entered trance states through dance, rhythm, and song, slipping into visions that guided their people. The Celts, too, spoke of the Otherworld, a realm beside our own, accessible not by ships or roads but by turning inward. Today, the heartbeat of a drum can stir that ancient memory with nothing more than a pair of earphones, leading us back into the current of vision. Immersive daydreaming is this same current, rediscovered — a personal gateway to the sacred act of imagining what could be, and through it, remembering who we truly are and what makes us human in the first place.

In my books, I try to capture this spirit — the timeless dance between reality and dream. To reawaken what was lost when we grew up, to remind the reader that the soul has always known how to fly. If my books were to succeed in anything, let it be this: to help you wander again through the gardens of your own imagination, and rediscover the worlds that have always waited within you. If you are not the one who discovers them, who will?
